Looking forward to the photo, you tease! Bravo for the 349 lbs! 89 pounds since January is simply fantastic. Best wishes for tomorrow! Reply to this
I've been keeping track of your progress via your site and decided to finally chime in.
I hope that you, your family and your friends are proud to know that you have genuinely touched the hearts of more people than you could possibly know.
Your triumphs and struggles have resonated with me and so many others, and I just wanted to say "thanks" for sharing them with all of us.
Forget the race - opening yourself up like you have takes more bravery and courage than running 26.2 miles ever will.
Come Monday, we'll be pulling for you all the way from Southern California.

jacob - some amazing person tipped me off to this website on craigslist. i've been checking in and with the marathon being the day after tomorrow i thought you could use a boost...
somewhere along those 26.2 miles on monday there will be a girl with complete faith that you can do this. she'll be wearing a specially designed t-shirt (although yours are lovely i was a little too late) and she and her friends (who will probably resemble the closest definition of a shit-show) will be anxiously awaiting your passing so they can make the biggest scene the boston marathon has ever known. it's going to be disgusting and offensive in the most encouraging, exciting and supportive way possible.
following this, and your completion of the big bad BM (c'mon, how can you fear something with the initials BM - you've got this marathon man.) i've made it my mission and goal (i'm wicked ambitious, just like you) to hunt you down and show you my sincere adoration. believe me, that won't be disgusting, offensive, obscene (unless you want it to be...)
anyways, i am speakin' the truth - but really this is just a little note to say that, even if you don't hear me and my friends going buck wild for you, and i don't succeed with my mission and goal (it's your day, my dreams come second...) just know that i've been following this endeavor and without ever having met you i stand behind you 126.2% ---- 26.2% isn't very encouraging so i added a 1 in the front.
you're gonna spank that marathon. have faith in yourself, and when it's faltering think about all the faith others have in you and watch that carry you a mile or two.

Fantastic encouragement, Lindsey. And if you do encounter 'the bear' give him a bear-hug for me...all the way from Spain. Reply to this

Jacob, I have been watching your website for a few weeks now, and havent' logged anything yet. I have just skimmed over the whole story once again, and now thinking--the race is tomorrow, I can't believe how much you have accomplished so far, in such a short amount of time. I can't help but get a little emotional with great feelings of pride. I AM proud of you, you are doing something that millions of people, including me, only dream of doing, (I mean the weight loss, getting healthy, accomplishing something you have only been dreaming of for years)I want you to finish that race! I want you to feel on top of the world for what you have done! I wish I could be there for more encouragement! I have shared your story with friends here, and you have our support in Oregon. I wish you the best of luck, and I will be checking hoping that you let us know as soon as humanly possible how it went. Sarah Reply to this

I hope you make it all the way. That said, don't destroy your knees or your back or whatever. You'll be needing them all your life!

Considering, that at this moment there are 9 hrs left to the start of the marathon, I should think that Jacob is already in Boston, hopefully with access to his blog to see all our support messages.
Rest well tonight, Jacob. Tomorrow is YOUR big day and we are with you! (May the weather be better than predicted!!) Reply to this

I am humbled by you, Jacob. And for the first time in my life, I plan to follow the Boston Marathon so I can cheer you on and cry as you cross that finish line. You see, you are crossing that line for all of us who don't have the sheer guts, bravery or determination that you have! If you're ever up in Canada, I would be honoured to take you out for a night on the town! Good Luck in the race!

Hey, congratulations. I am a runner and I definitely commend you on your efforts. Run it next year (or run the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA) and see how much time you can drop from that next year. Reply to this
